Chiang Mai, Thailand

It’s freaking Friday!!!  I have had a very hectic busy week.  I recently joined Flight Centre as a travel consultant and I am in my one month training period which by the way is amazing but also intense! *Update: I no longer work for Flight Centre.  I am now a freelance copywriter / Travel & Lifestyle blogger.

We learned about Thailand this week.  Asia has never been on my bucket list but after this week I will have to add it!  Not only is it one of the least expensive destinations (even for South Africans) but it is so incredibly beautiful!

I now want to visit Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Phi Phi Island and Chiang Mai.  For today though I decided to feature Chiang Mai.  Chiang Mai is located in the North of Thailand and not close to a beach.  Chiang Mai is the place you go to relax and wander around.  It’s great for hiking as it has mountains and is nestled amongst forested foothills.

Other activities in Chiang Mai includes:

1.  Visit the temples

2.  Nature and Wildlife tours

3.  Cooking Classes

4.  Visit the markets

5.  Get a massage

6.  Ride an elephant

This, to me, sounds like an awesome experience.

Have an awesome weekend!

  1. I’d be really interested to hear about your experience as a travel consultant, and get a first hand account of what its really like to work in a travel agency 🙂

    1. Hi Charlotte,
So I no longer work for a travel agency but am a freelance blogger. In my experience though, it was pretty stressful and target driven and if you’re not a sales person, this can be a difficult job. Also very long hours and very little compensation. Just my experience but I always say, don’t knock it ’till you try it 🙂
